Reverse setting synchronization between line and convoy

Let A be a line which has the return journey value set to true and (a) a convoy which is running on A. Then if the setting in A is set to false and if 'reverse route' was at this moment set to true at (a), this convoy will not be able to correctly follow the line, unless the user manually unsets the 'reverse route' at each affected convoy. I would prefer a behaviour where this value is synchronized between line and convoys and unsetting the return journey at the line window would also unset the reverse route value on each assigned convoy.
As always, please write me a message for a savegame, because of the attachement limit.

I agree that the current behaviour can be confusing when you first encounter it.  But synchronising line and convoy settings would prevent the use of 'Reverse route' to provide clockwise and anticlockwise services on circular lines.  Perhaps when the line setting is changed the player should be given either a reminder of the potential problem or (better) a one-off option to fix it.

Best wishes,

When applying the alternate directions flag to a line it should automatically split the line 50:50 with convoys in each direction. The problem is currently with a line of more than a few convoys it is very time consuming and difficult (good luck keeping track of numbers in each direction!) to manually set the direction of each convoy, to the point one might as well sell all convoys and start again.

Some form of ratio field box could be given if players want specific ratios in a direction.

A field "directional timetable" should also be added. What this does is give convoys going in inverse direction their own time table slots. Currently all convoys share from the same timetable slot pool for a certain stop on the line making it very difficult to run good loop services which stop in a bi-directional through flow bus stop, docks, train stations etc.

Another field should be added "smart platform choice" which makes line planning easier. Currently for train lines you cannot use the mirror option for through flow stations because the trains will try and go to the wrong platform in the inverse direction. Likewise with busses you can find in a bus loop with bi-directional traffic that they will often try to enter and park at the same side of the road for both directions. What this option does is tries to locate the obvious platform choice from the given stop. In the case of trains it will try and use the nearest platform from its last stop which will almost always be the one you want in the problem given above. With busses it will try and force them to enter through-flow stops in both directions when either in reverse mode or with mirrored schedule in reverse, even making considerable detours just to avoid entering from the same direction. If it cannot find an appropriate direction to enter then a warning should be raised.
