You might want to add the new "wrought iron" goods type here...

Are all inputs required or is there more nuance.

For example, my brewery didn't produce without grain and wood.

Now a cannery has appeared, inputs are: meat fruit fish steel.

I like to think that only steel + food is required to produce an output but my computer guy brain looks like I need to hook up EVERYTHING before I can get a tin of cat food.

Are there required / optional inputs?  How can one tell?

Thanks,
-danny

All inputs are required, so yes, you need meat, fruit, fish and steel.

(That's why I made a seperate meat and fish cannery for my own pak).

The same cannery graphics could be used for several variations ( meat+steel, fish+steel, vegetables+steel, meat+veg+grain+steel.....) but how would that impact the proliferation of industry chains?

Yes, that's what we'd have to do - one cannery for each type. I think that we'd need to increase the relative input for the single type of goods processed so as to compensate for the fact that other types are not processed in order to retain the same balance.

Edit: This is now done.

I should note that the canneries differ in their requirements over time - the 1810 cannery requires wrought iron, whereas those from 1860 onwards require steel.

Can we get some graphical variation between cannery types?  Even if it were as simple as a variation in brick color . . . though I think seeing a night-lit billboard of a tasty fish or steak or fruit on a cannery wall might be fun. :)

This would require a non-trivial amount of graphics production time, and there is a really very long queue of things that need to be done at present of higher priority. Greater variety of industry graphics is in the to do list somewhere, but currently not very high up.
