[11.35] Assets valuation is bouncing up and down

Why is there volatility in the attached Assets graph? I expected a slow, steady depreciation of values. Is it because the value of the cargo onboard is also taken into account?

I should be grateful for a saved game: I have not observed this before, and would expect it to come from actually changing assets by buying/selling/building/destroying things (although vehicles do model depreciation in a basic way, too).
