Title: 120.2 r8077 Crashes (Linux Wine GDI)
Post by: danivenk on February 15, 2017, 06:10:05 PM
When I start the new Simutrans 120.2 r8077, it either crashes when loading the last save file or it crashes before loading a new save file. (I haven't tested it with other paksets yet, the one I used was pak128)

Could you please test whether this also crashes with r8076 from the nightly page: http://nightly.simutrans.com/en/ ?

It also seems a better idea to run the Linux version of the game on Linux. It may be quirks in how Wine works compared to Windows. Although it is hard to see that this is an issue in game loading or saving, which is just plain I/O.

I use the windows version because of the lack of Japanese input on the linux version. In the linux version you can only input Japanese through copy and paste. (see my post about it here: http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=14181.msg140628)

@Dwachs testing it.

it seems to like wine gives an error while loading a save, when the nightly Simutrans engine has booted.

Try running a Windows SDL build? Otherwise we need some indicator of where it is crashing to try and fix a compatibility problem with GDI.
