Title: icon
Post by: polytan on August 03, 2008, 12:53:37 PM
Hi guys,

Can we have a .png (or svg) as a simutrans icon in the package to be able to build a launcher for Linux users ?

Thanks in advance,

Polytan

Indeed you can, .svg file.

Thanks.

Do you think it can be put at an official place, or in the package of simutrans itself ?

Because if we want to automatised the process of creating a launcher for this program, it is nicer with an icon, and useful not to change the place of it all the time ;)

What sized images are necessary for creation of the icon? It'd be a good idea to have some official art for the creation of icons (and including these with the source would be even better). I suggest talking to Stormoog about that though, as he developed the icon.

Or if you have a good way to incorporate it into Unix, it can go into the official distribution ...

It is common to put the icon of a program with the program itself actually.

The svg image attached above is not very appropriate as a desktop icon -- but isn't there an icon somewhere in the program? IIRC, there is a square 'quarter circle' icon displayed when you start Simutrans.
