Can't build clerestory coaches, etc., in 1919?

On the bridgewater-brunel server it is currently 1919, and I am unable to build anything in the GNR clerestory line except the mail and parcel carriages; none of the coaches nor dining cars ever appear in the depot window for purchase, even after building  a clerestory mail carriage.

Also -- it does not appear that selecting a different Livery does anything at all, for locomotives or for rolling stock.  Changing its value does not have any effect.  Is there a specific example which demonstrates its function?

Ahh, thank you for spotting that - some of them had the retirement dates set to 1923 rather than 1913. Clerestory carriages were thoroughly obsolete by 1919, so it ought not be possible to build any at that date. We currently have an incomplete timeline of GNR locomotives and carriages, which will eventually be filled, but there are many other priorities.

As to liveries, the livery selector is only relevant when there are vehicles which can appear in more than one livery at any one time, which is not true of any vehicles in 1919 at present. During the world wars, certain locomotives have an optional wartime austerity livery that can be selected instead of their ordinary livery in the livery scheme box, but many locomotives are not yet so treated, and, as yet, no carriages or 'buses have this option. In general, the range of liveries for vehicles is not yet fully complete. A majority of the present multiple livery options are purely sequential (one livery succeeds another with no two concurrently valid at any one time), which explains why the livery selector does not presently have any effect on newly purchased vehicles. However, if you use the livery selector on an older train, either in the depot or the line management window, you will update the train to the latest livery of the scheme selected (if it has a livery in the selected scheme). For example, if you are still running any LBSCR B1 "Gladstone" class locomotives, setting their livery scheme to "LBSCR" will update them to the post-1905 umber colour. After 1923, doing the same save for selecting "SR" will update them to the Southern Railway green livery.
