Pressing the control key will build only straight line and diagonals.

Not straight build question.

I want two separate lines (1)
But unable to build, while move forward so it would be second line (red colour) - it connects to first line (orange colour).
And it is unable to build diagonal rails from beginning, first it should come 1 square  straight.

Simutrans is field-oriented. There are no 2 tracks on a field.

Unlike OpenTTD which allows two separate diagonal rails to occupy opposite corners of a tile, Simutrans only knows 1 rail per tile. As a result diagonals need to be made of a step 2 wide which is separate for each track. The result is that diagonal track is not very space efficient, especially when dealing with a lot of separate tracks.

It does solve the upgrade problem that OpenTTD had though. Each track can be upgraded separately as opposed to both tracks in a tile having to be upgraded.
