Well, it certainly is a very different take on it, for sure.
The background noises kinda swamp the melody. Other than that the late 70s/80s feel is something I think needs a timeline for in game music to really work. As well as having tracks appropriate to each era the Simutrans theme could be present all the way through with different arrangements. Anyway, enough dreaming I think most people don't play the in game music at all so not a huge priority!
Sounds alien, futuristic, I think if you reworked it a little better along with the rest of the music, you could actually put this in game.
