A new version of Simutrans-Experimental is now available, fixing a number of bugs identified in the previous version, and making a number of optimisations. Information on how to get this latest version of Simutrans-Experimental can be found here. This also incorporates all the latest changes from the Simutrans-Standard nightlies, including a fix for the map bug found in 3.9, the new handling of addons, and the reported bug which caused crashes in some cases when text was entered in text boxes. This version also compiles correctly under GCC. A list of all changes follows:

Changes

  • CHANGE: Attempt at fixing rotating bug
  • FIX: Pathing for one category of goods could interfere with pathing of another.
  • CHANGE: Made memory allocation in the pathing more efficient.
  • FIX: Compile error with GCC
  • FIX: When vehicles were set to "retire", the setting persisted after they had been set to leave the depot.
  • FIX: Makefile now works with Mac OS X (J Toomim)
  • FIX: Corrected MSVC++ settings for SDL configuration.
  • FIX: Removed redundant code.
  • FIX: The Simutrans-Experimental version number now appears in the title bar to Linux and other SDL builds.
  • CHANGE: Added Simutrans-Experimental specific text to the introductory part of the console output.
  • FIX: Public player stops still did not register lines correctly when connected to private players' stops.

Feedback and testing

Thank you to all who have tested and given input to previous versions of Simutrans-Experimental - as ever, your work has contributed greatly to the project, and the above bugfixes. Any further feedback would be very much appreciated, including, but not only, bug reports, discussion of game balancing issues, and information as to how the new features affect strategy. Have fun playing and let me know what you think!
