[New release] Simutrans-Experimental 10.11

A new version of Simutrans-Experimental is available to-day: Simutrans 111.0 Experimental 10.11. See here for more information on how to download, install and set up the latest version. For those already familiar with the installation and setup, here are some quick links:

Note that the Windows binaries contain the Windows version of the no-graphics server and Nettool. Neither the configuration files, Nettool nor Makeobj have been updated for this version. This is a bugfix version, which fixes reported issues in 10.10. I have included the version compiled with IPv4 only in the Windows binaries, as some users were reporting frequent desyncs when using Windows XP in 10.4.

Simutrans-Experimental 10.11 (together with Pak128.Britain-Ex 0.8.3) can be played online. See here for details of the server.

This is a bug fix release. Not all planned changes and patches have been applied - those are still planned for the next major release. A full list of changes follows.

Changes since 10.10

       
  • FIX: Settings for early electricity consumption were historically inaccurate: electricity generation was set up, in the UK at least, as early as 1882.
  • CHANGE: Where a town's electricity supply is less than 1MW, show the amount in units of KW instead.
  • FIX: Goods and passengers repeat their destination in the passenger list (omikron)
  • FIX: Corrupted text in city power display
  • CHANGE: Various minor enhancements to the English translation texts, including new city name components
  • CHANGE: Clarify GUI for prohibitive way constraints
  • FIX: Crash when selecting "upgrade" in the replacer window when the vehicle to which he vehicle in question is to upgrade is not avaialable yet.
  • FIX: Incorrect behaviour and possible crashes when deleting substations.
  • FIX: Crashes on loading in some cases (ultimate cause not determined, but this seems to fix it).
  • FIX: The interest figures and credit limits were incorrectly calculated when players had very large sums of money.
  • FIX: Power line connexions did not respect access rights.
  • FIX: Private car routes were not refreshed when they ought to have been refreshed (Note - this can cause very slow performance on games with many cities unless "assume_everywhere_connected_by_road" is enabled)
  • CHANGE: Making a way that is already public public will result in it being set as unowned.
  • FIX: Stack overflow in some cases.
Feedback and testing

Thanks also to all those who have tested Simutrans-Experimental and provided useful feedback: it is very much appreciated. Any feedback from this version would, as ever, also be very much appreciated, including (1) the new features from 10.4 (access, revenue sharing, player colour saving/transmission); (2) online play (see here for a list of Simutrans-Experimental servers); (3) general bug reports; (4) information as to how well-balanced that the game is; (5) any difference in approach/strategy needed for Simutrans-Experimental as over Simutrans-Standard; and (6) any other useful feedback.
