Topic: English City Names ...

I can't read German very well - but looking through the German forums with some help from Google Translate I found a post from sojo about city names that I thought was worth posting on the international forums. (Also saw a post saying that help with texts would be appreciated due to a lack of free time)

(sojo - correct me If I haven't understood correctly, or if you have already made a list)

The summary seems to be:

• Most city names should try to be fantasy names
• No brand names
• The core development team should have cities named after them - e.g. "Brosestadt" ~ "Brosetown"

I don't know if the German names translate into English directly, but these are rough translations of some of them:

I can't tell which other cities are named after people, but "sojo city" seems to have a ring to it 

Has anyone got any ideas - or better translations?

By the look of it, there aren't city lists for other languages either ...

I don't know why you prefer Mousehall over Mousehole, apart from Mousehole being an existing placename in Cornwall: http://www.cornwall-online.co.uk/westcornwall/mousehole.htm. A very pretty village by the way...

Make a translation for the cities. We will see what we do into the Pakset.
