Speed records - Message Centre Options

Hello:

I keep getting popups for speed records every month.  They're quite annoying and I'd like to stop them.

I'm sure the option is somewhere in Message Centre Options, but which one?  Players News?  What other notifications would I lose if I turn this off?

Also what are the various types of indicators in Message Centre?  There are three - the first looks like a scrolling message across the bottom but then there are two window types - one has a timer and one has a flashing indicator.  What are these?  I'm not sure what they do based on the icon.

Simutrans 111.3 r5774 with pakset 128 2.1.0 on Ubuntu Linux 12.04 32-bit.

I'm almost sure you need to disable "New Vehicles", I thought I had edited this string later.
You'll lose those messages plus 'new vehicles available' and 'vehicles ceased production'.

If rare and relatively important messages like "New vehicle" are grouped with spam like the speed records, that's bad.

The speed records pop up very seldomly, in my experience. Only after loading you see a bunch of them.

But suggestions for a better system are welcomed ...

They bunch up after loading, but there is a somewhat steady trickle after that, probably with insignificant improvements. Mostly speeds above maximum speed for the vehicle.

Maybe disable speed record messages during fast-forward?

For me they appear at the start of the month for every vehicle type, so I get 4 of them at the start of the month in quick succession.

It might be nice to have them as another line in Message Centre Options, or group them with something that isn't quite as important as "New Vehicles".  What does "Players News" do?
