I have a bit of hard time when I start a new world. Not that simutrans is giving me headaches; it's hard to generate a map as I like to play. A thing that is important for me is the town placement. I have to start a new world 10 or 20 times until I find a map that is okay for me. I usually start 512x512 maps with 10 towns.

Towns a lot of times are placed too close to the map borders, or they are too much close to each other, in both cases it feels odd and ugly, in my opinion. In fact, I don't mind having some conurbation, this is desired to form metropolises, but sometimes towns are placed 4 or 5 tiles from each other. Sometimes the biggest city spawns near the corners of the map, which strangulates the network and factories in a narrow space.

So I'd like to propose these parameters for simuconfig:

Minimum distance of the towns from map borders = 0 - 36 tiles

Minimum distance between towns = 0 - 36 tiles

Minimum distance between the biggest city and the map corners = 0 - 64 tiles, or

Maximum distance between the biggest city and the center of the map = 0 - 512 tiles

In any case, zero means no restriction.
