Massive electric bill!

I'm playing a pak64 512*512 map with several industries that I've hooked up the my electric grid.


My rough back-of-the-laptop-lid calculations for electric grid maintenance costs are as follows:


20 tiles of tunnels @ 200c/tile  --> 4000c
20 tiles of bridges @ 28c/tile    --> 560c
2000 normal tiles  @ 2c/tile      --> 4000c
10 transformers    @ 80c each  --> 800c


Total monthly maintenence roughly = 10000 credits.


According to the "Powerlines" tab of the finance menu, monthly maintenance is at about 50000 credits!


This is a fairly sizable map with the powered industries well boosted, yet obviously my power grid business is hideously in the red with this difference. What have I missed? I'm pretty sure there's no hidden tunnels I've accidentally created...

I have noticed similar thing -  my company does not have any powerlines at all, but still pays for it. Maybe tram electrification costs are included in powerlines bill.

Good idea, but I've tested it and rail/tram electrification doesn't go into power grid maintenance. I've tried everything else from trees to canals; nothing else seems to go into the cost.

Spacethingy: which version or revision do you use? There was a bug with cost assignment, which should be solved by revision 6554 (June 17th).

Oops, forgot to check the nightlies! Trying my savegame in r6680, the maintenance for the power grid drops from 50000 to 7000. Brilliant, thanks for the fix guys!


EDIT: I was using 112.3 r6520. Was this related to this bug at all, out of interest?

No, this bug was that the maintenance of all tunnels were put to the powerlines when loading a game
