[11.5] Vehicle slowing down for no reason

If you follow the HST in the frame in this save, you'll notice that after Loughborough it slows to 4kph for no apparent reason. It does not have a waypoint on that tile, and there is no other obvious reason for its braking. The 4kph speed is normally reserved for the severest cornering angles. This appears to happen at the same place, on the same line, each hour. I'd bet that this is happening elsewhere on the map too, but this is the location I noticed first.

Thank you for the report. This is a curious one. The convoy visible when first loading the game for some reason has no block reservation. If one opens its schedule window and closes it again, it acquires a block reservation, and works correctly without slowing down. The next following Nottingham fast service does not show this problem at all, and correctly reserves its route and also does not slow down. Do I understand you to say that, in 11.5, each Nottingham fast service slows to 4km/h outside (after) Loughborough? If so, the problem may already be fixed in the 11.x branch.

Carl

I'm not certain that every subsequent Nottingham fast exhibited this behaviour, but at least some subsequent services on that line did -- which is to say that the problem was not limited to this particular convoy at this particular time. I will try to compile the 11.x branch tomorrow to see whether this is indeed fixed.

The problem is particularly odd since the behaviour -- slowing to 4kph for a time -- is not normally what one would expect of a convoy which is merely acquiring a new reservation.

I tested this and found that the results matched your description above -- the first convoy can be fixed by opening and closing the schedule window, and no further convoys appear to exhibit the bug. So I think no further attention is required on this matter for the time being. I'll let you know if it crops up again.
