Offending save file: http://pan.baidu.com/s/1qW33s2w

In this save, I created route 5, and it is very popular  ;)

However, later I found that Corningcaster - Swainspool has more demand than Swainspool - Nerlthorne, hence I created a short trip 5A from Corningcaster - Swainspool.

And problem arises, people in Corningcaster refuses to board 5A when they just need to go to Swainspool Basin Road, Swainspool Library Stop and Swainspool Town Hall stop, which 5A also calls for them. The passengers only wait for route 5... (But, people in Swainspool are more than happy to board 5A to reach Coringcaster  ??? )

Tried save and load, but same result.

The aforementioned 3 stops are old but the other 2 in Swainspool are new stops squares, not sure if it is related. (By saying "stop squares" I mean the square where the stop is at. Printworks stop is a new Stop for 5A but Tower Square stop is an old stop extended.)

This is not a bug; rather, passengers will not necessarily board the first convoy that comes along, but wait for the one that will take them there the fastest (and will try to guess whether waiting to board the best convoy will save or waste time; but, without actual timetables, it can only be a guess, and sometimes the passengers will get it wrong).

Hm.. I see

In fact both routes are nearly identical for many stops, so they should take the same time... Passengers are apparently too accustomed to the old route totally neglecting the new one

It will not be accustomisation - there is no such thing encoded; rather, there will be some advantage of speed. The code should work out which is the most efficient thing to do.

btw passengers now willing to take 5A :D

I believe it is because of headway, after thinking about it. (Route 5 had a more frequent service than 5A, and other things, include bus models, are equal)

Apparently, at the Corningcaster Town Hall Terminus (with Spacing/cnv month set for both routes), passengers are willing to wait for Route 5 even Route 5A is departing, causing my confusion.
