Factors for industry growth

Recently I asked for explanation of why industry did not grow after reaching of 5000 new citizens in global, as I thought that number of industry_increase_every means.

And at this time, when no industry did not appear after reaching of more than 11000 citizens (it means of 1000 more than industry_increase_every = 5000 means, 10000) I ask what else affects growth of industry.

Or any bug appears?

Availability of industries (timeline) and availability of suitable locations. I seem to remember that the algorithm for the latter might be a bit dumb.

So ... if he does not find a suitable location, he skip placing of new industry ? at all ???

But then it would be corrected with message that new industry cannot be placed.

I can start new game on different map - where he would not have a problem (at this time, as I wrote in mentioned topic, play on map of Czech republic with size 2000*1316 - and with water raised of one level), but ...

I wanted to test my own factory chain for pak96.comic - marketplace (temperate,tundra,rocky) with its suppliers rabbit farm (temperate, tundra) and fish pond (mediterran,temperate,tundra,rocky). I am almost sure that there are demanded climates.



All those factories are available on SVN.

What else is there to do? Just throw away the entire map and generate a new one?

Most players probably wouldn't know what to do with that. Furthermore, the next industry chain triggered might spawn just fine, and the one after that. From what I remember reading here on this forum, Simutrans only does a few tries at placing industries, so as not to lock up the game indefinately. The random positions tried might have been extremely unfortunate.
