I downloaded the 876x876 German map with rivers <http://maps.simutrans.com/downloads/Germany_DER.zip> and used it to start a new pak128 game. The "rivers" it refers to are apparently The Elbe, the Rhine, and the Danube. Sea-level values from -14 to -10 seem to produce reasonable coastlines (outside of the Netherlands), but anything below -11 seems to leave a lot of dry river bed for parts of the 3 main rivers.
I created the map with "Number of rivers" set to 27, and it did generate some above-sea level rivers, but not as many or as long as there should be, and they don't always coincide with the obvious river valleys in the map. I'd like to have a map that at least roughly resembles <http://www.european-waterways.eu/e/info/germany/>. The pak128 Map Editor bar includes 5 different river tools, so I can create such a map, but it would be a lot of work - in particular, I'd have to decide which of the 5 river tools to use on the various parts of the rivers. What I'd like to know is whether anybody has already put in that work, and if so, could I get a copy of the map?
