Is it possible to have different cityroads and country roads for different parts of the timeline?

e.g. pre 1930 - all city roads are cobblestone road, post 1930, use tarmac road with lines

If so, how do you make it like that in the dats?  If not, how easy is it to have this as a new feature?

If I'm not wrong, you can do that just specifying intro and retire dates (add intro_year, intro_month, retire_year and retire_month to every dat file)

To be more specific: IF the default city road in not available, the first road with a speed next to 50kmh will be take. If the cooble stone road is 45, and gavel 40 then it will be cobble stone and so on.

Would that work with road speeds greater than 50km/h if the default road was not available

The "best" way will be found. If no road with speed<50 is available, the first one there will be taken (usually the one with "a" like asphalt .... ) Speed limit will be anyway 50.
