So I guess I didn't post about Pocket City yet. It's not a transportation simulator, but it may still be of interest. It is more of a SimCity type game, currently in alpha for iOS and Android, but will be released for other OSes (i.e. Windows/Mac/Linux) in future.

After the developer posted on reddit about it, I created a subreddit for it: http://reddit.com/r/PocketCity - and the game has just gone into alpha.

You can find the email address to request an alpha copy here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PocketCity/comments/7onhul/alpha_invites_sent/

Get a feel for the game here: https://pocketcitygame.com/ and here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyTSKegNNauwxey-8wd7Gng

I've got the alpha, and.... it's pretty nice. There's definitely some bugs, but he's made the basic game smooth and slick - very well done, in my opinion.

Also, one of the reasons this got a bunch of interest is that he promises there will not be microtransactions in the game. It will be available as ad-supported and as purchased (with a target price of $5 or maybe less). So no artificial waiting or microtransactions to get around that waiting.

I like the gameplay so far - and there's two modes - "story" which has goals (like grow your population or build a building) and "sandbox" which I haven't tried yet but is supposed to be simply no story.

I like it a lot so far. :)

Nice graphics but I'm gonna wait for the linux release, playing on a tiny device is definitly not my cup of tea.
