When a train is driving in timed interval mode from a timed interval station signal and approaches its stop it will decelerate to less than 1km/h before the final tile and end up crawling the last time at less than 1 km/h. Although it does this only for 1 tile, the speed is so slow that it adds significant time to short journeys.

This can be seen by watching trains at the two drive through stations in the demo map posted here...

Follow a train as it approaches one of the middle two stops. It will slow down as it approaches, as expected due to breaking distance. However it will almost come to a complete stop (<1km/h) and then travel a single tile further at this ludicrously slow speed. The expected result is the train should be traveling the final tile significantly faster, possibly breaking a tile later to achieve this.

Update:
Seems a work around is to use distance signals before the station. The train will then correctly approach at speed and directly stop at the end of the station. Not sure why this works but it will give you an extra 4-8 km/h average speed over shorter distances.

As stated in the other thread, this appears to occur at least mostly (and, after the latest fixes, which will appear in to-morrow's nightly build, perhaps only) when a train has passed through the same station as that from which it departs, containing a station signal, after it has left that station, which will only occur with a reversing loop arrangement.

Can I ask anyone to let me know whether, after to-morrow's nightly build, this can be reproduced reliably in any place where a train has not passed through such an arrangement?

Appears to be fixed to some extent. However I cannot really test it anymore because timed interval station signals are highly broken at the moment.
