Discussion: houses revenue?

So today I was thinking about a topic that was around here some months ago.(can't find it)  It was about a way to make public player playable.

My idea is, instead of paying maintenance costs every month for the map houses, that value should be instead revenue (replacing maintenance costs of homes as revenue thus having 0 maintenance for it). I suppose this can be easily made with a code changing?
On the other side, when a player buys a home the same should happen. One may say that this may become exploitable, what if house price when buying gets higher or the revenue is smaller? This would be more harder to implement of course.

What do you think? Specially about the public player. Would it be possible?
