What is the setting for the server?

Why do negative returns occur? Can anyone tell me why?



Because of some reason. I am looking for volunteers who can help me update the Pak64.Nightly.

I assume it is pak128.german.

pak128.german and pak64.german have not defined a speed bonus.

Some vehicles may not be balanced for a certain year so their operation costs are higher than the income per tile.

on the server pay_for_total_distance = 2 ist set. that causes your vehicles to have a negative income.

no, even outdated vehicles make profit, except some luxury hi-speed trains

yes, i think this is the reason. Only 10% detour are in the calculations.
Maybe waiting to long for 100% loading, decrease the profit through the fixed monthly cost.

Does this mean that only the distance between the starting station and the terminal station (point to point) is calculated? And should I avoid designing the route as a circular route? Should all routes be designed as straight lines? Two points, one line?

This need straight lines and transfer stations. A network like a star or a snowflake.

Nobody like extensive sightseeing tours thru the city, on their daily way to work and hate to pay extra for it.
This is specially on the server, not in singleplay.

Straight lines will take back the passengers that have the wish to return. Mostly they will go back to home from work or sightseeing.

Depending on workload, speed, power and weight of the vehicle.
There is a need of 25%-50% workload for profit, depending luxury and fast transportation.

On Simutrans, don't any passengers need to move around the city? All passengers only go back and forth between industry and home in "two points one line"?

this can only happen if you move the passengers away form their destination.
And only if it is pay_for_total_distance = 2

But in strait lines, passengers do not enter the vehicle moving in the wrong direction.
