Hi kittens! Are the trucks waiting for goods?

Also, the roads are often very busy in later years (after 1950). If you are playing after 1950, can you use waypoints to send the trucks on a different route? Maybe a route that avoids town centres (downtowns).

Yes, that sounds it could be a traffic problem, although Extended is complicated so there could be other reasons too.

You can try deleting some private cars. If that allows the trucks to leave the station, then it's probably a traffic problem and you can think about how to solve it.
