A new version of Simutrans-Experimental is available to-day, version 3.11. See here for information on how to get it. This version fixes a few small bugs and implements one or two optimisations, but there are no major changes. It also incorporates all the latest changes from the latest nightly build of Simutrans-Standard. As with version 3.10 (and as will be the case for all future versions until further notice), both GDI and SDL builds are available for Windows.

List of changes

  • FIX: Still some possibilities of cross-contamination between different goods types in routing.
  • FIX: Restored the functionality of "max_transfers" in simuconf.tab (which had been over-ridden in version 3.9 by a revision to the routing system)
  • ADD: If max_transfers is set to 0 in simuconf.tab, the route search will be of ulimited depth (the behaviour in any event in 3.9 and 3.10)
  • CHANGE: Route search now uses freelist to improve performance.
  • FIX: Hangs/freezes (infinite loop) on map rotation in some cases.
  • CODE: Add precompiler directive option, "USE_INDEPENDENT_PATH_POOL" to use the original memory pool instead of freelist. Disabled by default. Recommended setting: disabled.
  • CODE: Corrected out of date code comment relating to the units of waiting times.

Feedback and testing

As ever, it is always extremely helpful to have feedback on this latest build: bug reports, gameplay information and anything else would be most useful. Thanks as always to those who are kindly testing Simutrans-Experimental and diligently filing bug reports and suggestions for fixes - it would not be possible to make so much progress without your help! Happy playing...
