How to control the underground view?

Hello,
In Pak64, I often have trouble with the underground view. It never shows the level I want, and I can't find a way to control it. I usually click on the underground view, but if it displays the wrong level, I switch back to the normal view, move the map around, and try again.

I suspect the displayed level might depend on the cursor position or the map itself. Is there a way I'm overlooking to access a specific underground level directly?

There is the sliced underground view. That will always select the level that you want, adjustable by plus and -. You can recognise it by the number indicating the current slice level.
