Choose which cargo to load?

Hi

My route has both ethanol and gasoline available for transport.  When the train arrives it can transport both to the gas station.

But the gas station has too much gasoline and not enough ethanol.  So I prefer my train to just pick up ethanol.  In a similar game called Locomotion I could specify the cargo to be loaded. I cant seem to do that here.   Have I missed something?

As long as there is gasoline to transport, it will transport gasoline. As the station has too much gasoline, the connected factories will stop producing gasoline so after a while there is no gasoline to transport to the gas-station. From that moment on it starts transporting ethanol.

So, you can't specify the cargo, but in the end everything will run ok automatically.

Actually, every loading should go to different destinations in recent version.

My train is transporting both gasoline and ethanol. Its doing that now.  Sometimes its a mixed loading and other times three ethanol or three gasoline.  Appears random and having no relation to demand or supply.

I'm not going to let my refinery chain close down for months because too much of the overproduction of gasoline has been transported to the gas station.  To me its an important part of the game to keep the industry running. As Simutrans lacks a basic load feature present in other games of this type I will work out some other way to achieve the correct level of delievery.

Sorry prissi I dont understand. Even though different destinations may exist, there will be times I want to choose what goes on a train that serves more than one destination.

No. Sometimes I have this problem : ethanol plant is overloaded with ethanol, so it stops producing and doesn't accept crops anymore.
If the gas station is overloaded with gasoline, the oil raffinery will be overloaded with gasoline, stop producing it doesn't accept oil anymore.

This was how I solved the problem. (From 'Long Challenge' in the Arena section)

1. Did not deliver directly to the Gas station.
2. Created two separate stations..Gasoline and Ethanol. I call them warehouses. There is over 12,000 Gasoline there.
3. One train..shown..picks up from warehouses and delivers to the Gas station
4. But this train can move too much cargo too quickly. It would over supply. Had to slow it down
5. It has wait orders for 10% load at the *GAS* station. It has no cargo at the Gas station to load..so it waits...and waits
6. I didn't want an indefinite wait.  Just enough to match supply with consumption.
6. By altering the maximum wait time..1/64..1/32..1/16/..1/8 etc I eventually found a setting that regulated deliveries nicely.

Still. Its a pity we cant choose what to load.  Hope that option can be made available (it is on other games).
