Intro/retire dates are defined for powerlines already. However, only one powerline object is used all the time. This patch enables the use of more powerline objects (for different times, different types etc).

Thanks! Yet another place where object type "monopoly" is eliminated :)

The Hood

Yes, thanks for this, I will aim to take advantage of it in pak128.Britain at some point...

This was on my todo list for four year (since I had the japanese power lines.) With the new power line patch, different capacities might be possible too.

I shall look forward to this!

incorporated with revision 3276.

You (as pak authors) can differentiate between different levels of powerlines with the help of the topspeed: by default powerlines are built on top of other powerlines with lower topspeed (as it is for ways).

The Hood

Does this timeline also include substations as well as the powerlines themselves?

I do not understand. Do you mean these transformer stations? Then the answer is no.

The Hood

Yes, that is what I meant.  Is there a plan to allow a timeline for these too, or am I just being greedy now?

Dwachs

That would be a rather difficult undertaking. Right now, dat/pak-system-wise PowerSource/Dest are misc-objects, which means they can carry only information about names and authors, and have a continuous list of images. Any attempt to create intro/retire dates etc would mean reworking the system. The changes I committed lately were rather small changes (no heavy changes in makeobj).

The Hood

OK.  I'll cope :)

I don't think it's a major priority.

The biggest problem are currently crossings between different powerlines. They are really not matching.
