Hey,

I been playing simutrans for few days now, but i'm allways getting stuck on multi platform stations.
Done some testing, but can't figure out how to make it correctly.

Im working with dual track and 1way signals
=   Platform
+   Track change
<   Signal (direction)
>   Signal (direction)
c   Choose signal

The following track works without trouble, even with 4-5 trains. They nicely queue up on the signals and stations
===+--c-----<-----<--+===
===+-->----->-----c--+===

Now at this point i get stuck, where trains wait before the middle station (at the choose signal), till the previous train reached the next choose signal and ignore all normal signals.
===+--c-----<-----<--+===+--c-----<-----<--+===
===+-->----->-----c--+===+-->----->-----c--+===

anyone can tell me what im doing?

Im using version 102-2-2

Hi Fallonsnest, and welcome to the forum!

What's your schedule? Left station, middle station, right station, middle station, left station? Then it is odd indeed. If you do anything different then you should realize that choose signals reserve the track up and until their next station scheduled (not the station next in line). You can press "b" to see all reserved tracks. That might give you a clue what goes wrong.

its not the left/middle/right/middle/left trains that are bocked on the signals. its the trains passing the middle station without stopping that are stuck there till the train in front reaches one of the outer stations. So its probably that reserving track till next scheduled station.
Currently i added another track to the station without having a load platform on it.
there i put choose end signals at both sides of the straight part, then putting a waypoint between those 2 end signals

I will try the "b" key on stations i havent upgraded yet to see what was exact problem.
great tip, sure it will be very usefull when extending my rail net and rushing many trains over the same tracks.
tnx :)

the "b" key showed the track being reserved from the middle station to the next station.

tried new appraoch today which works very well.
instead of "drive trough" stations, i made side stations.

so there is a main track connecting many cities and factories. When i put station, i make intersection and divert the track to the station.
made some "drive trough" stations, but they are still beside the main track with 2 intersections of the main track on both sides of the station

here is example of how i made the stations. enough space for at least 1 train between the main track intersections and the side tracks toward the stations. havent got a single train stuck with this method.
