Using pak128 vs 110 I have a factory with a drive thru loading bay and a private road sign on the entrance and exit. The sign seems to only keep out the cars, while other trucks use the loading bay as a short cut to where they are going, totally avoiding a set of traffic lights.  Can this be prevented?

this is only because I am not quite sure I am right:
Small summary of station: by any factory is loading bay what is not on end of road
Small summary of trucks: they go through that station to go to else target

-->
Here small screenshot would be very helpful. I use private road very rarely - and mainly I don't use traffic lights because I have not found utilisation for them yet.

That citycars don't go behind private road is right - because it is purpose - but ignoring of traffic lights is very strange (but you may change their timing - I think via right click on them - but I am not sure). And what is the most important, if I am not wrong, traffic lights only improve traffic congestion.

But you may try to do following: build there choose sign. It may be imperfect solution - but most trucks should be redirected elsewhere - where they will not make problems.

The red dump trailer as well as the silver truck in the first bay came from road on lower right and should travel to the traffic lights ,middle left,then turn right but instead they travel thru the loading bays then turn right upon exiting the factory area.

If the other trucks are yours, you can use a waypoint to send them on the route on which you wish to send them.

Ok... private road signs only affect city cars, not player vehicles (not even from other players), so they play no role in this situation.

As to why the trucks choose this way instead of the other... apparently simutrans has calculated this way to be shorter or to have less sharp curves than the alternative... although it's a bit hard to understand, looking at it. I think this needs some input from prissi or one of the other Devs... but you can always force their way via waypoints.

Oh and you could have made that screenshot a tad bigger - it's a bit hard to see any details.

Thank you . Hope this one shows more detail. One more thing, the trucks do not always take the short cut route, it seems to depend on the traffic at the lights.
