Does anybody know what could cause this?:

FATAL ERROR:
karte_t::get_random_ausflug
sziel()
nothing found.
PRESS ANY KEY

I'm experiencing this in 9.12, but only (I think) with one particular savegame.

Carl,

can you upload the saved game and give steps to reproduce?

Carl

On further observation I don't think this is tied to one particular game.

I can reproduce the crash from scratch using the following steps:

1. Create a new map with no cities.
2. Place a few cities manually.
3. Crash occurs within a few in-game hours.

This crash does not occur if a map is created with even one city -- even if cities are subsequently placed manually. However, if a map is created with one city, and that city is subsequently deleted, the crash will occur (if there are other manually-placed cities present).

Let me know if you can reproduce this -- if not I'll upload a save.

jamespetts

Hmm - I can't reproduce this, I'm afraid.

Carl

Hmm. I'll try to create a suitable save to upload.

I have just come across this problem myself, can be reproduced as follows:

1) Generate a new map with no cities
2) Place one city manually
3) Delete all attractions generated with that city

The crash will then occur within a few game hours...

Note: if step 2 happens to generate a city with no attractions, then the crash will occur without you having to delete anything.

Also, it appears you can stop the crash from happening by manually building attractions.

The problem also seems to occur if you generate a new map with any number of cities, then manually delete all attractions on the map. In other words, a map with 1 or more cities, and no attractions = crash.

Ahh - I think that a crash associated with having no attractions has recently been fixed by Knightly, which fix will be incorporated into the next release. Thank you for the report, and welcome to the forum!
