I seem to recall I developed a little trick for doing this in previous Ubuntu versions but I've either forgotten it or 12.04 does things differently.

I am unable to minimize or maximize the Simutrans screen in Ubuntu 12.04.  The window icons up top (close, minimize, maximize) have disappeared.  I'm also unable to even change the size of the window.

I tried -fullscreen and that obviously maximizes the screen but also makes switching to other applications impossible, I have to quit Simutrans in order to check anything else.

I'm using the latest Simutrans 111.2.2 with pak128 2.1.0 with Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit on an AMD Phenom II X3 B73 with 4 GB of RAM and an ASUS GeForce GT 520 video card.

Anything I can try?

Thank you!

Which window manager are you using? Using the debian package for 111.2.2 (I assume is the same) with openbox works ok here.

Unity.

Though it appears this is just (another) Unity problem, seems normal after a reboot.

Thanks for the response.

Hi,
With last ubuntu 12.04 and Unity, I noticed that full screen didn't work very well in fact.
My experimented solution :
I run Simutrans in default windows, choose my pakset and after select my game in this "small" windows. When game is completely started I maximize this window with corner action (not by double-clicking on the head of windows).
So I can now easily play to Simutrans, swap on another applications (by keyboard keys or clicking to button of Unity control dasboard).
