Title: Support for Esperanto?
Post by: Phystam on June 10, 2019, 04:52:49 PM
I am learning Esperanto.
I always play simutrans with Japanese translations, but recently I've found that there's no Esperanto translations... Maybe, almost all players don't need it, but I think that preparation is important however.
Can anyone add the language translation support in simutranslator?

Add Esperanto to the Simutranslator is easy, i have done this

Finding a person who did the translation is hard

Unfortunately, we have some languages, that have got only a few try translations.

A pak256 is also possible, if you wish.

Saluton!

Incidentally, I'm learning Esperanto too.  In fact, I've been learning it for four days and it's quite simple to learn if you know English, and a Romance language: Italian, Portuguese, Spanish,...

Dankon!
And, yes, It is helpful adding pak256-Ex, too!
I wrote English translations, but for other languages I cannot do.

Although supporting Esperanto for simutrans itself seems to be hard because of the huge amount of translation, supporting Esperanto on this forum might be reasonable.

cyr.bdf doesn't have "ĈĜĤĴŜŬ ĉĝĥĵŝŭ" letters, so I made them.

Makie, can you change the font to cyr.bdf? Prop-Latin is not suitable for Esperanto.

I would add the changed cyr.bdf, if you post the patch. But you could use also your system unicode fonts to substitute.

Thank you, prissi.
Currently font selector is only available for standard. I would like to play also Extended version, so I will make that.
For future, I will create not only Esperanto alphabets but also other latin-like letters and several other language alfabets (such as armenian, georgian).
After that, I will post the cyr.bdf font change patch.

The font replacement is actually quite independent from all the rest (at least if one does not increase the font size too much.) That should be a quick port to extended.

wait, I will upload the modified version of cyr.bdf soon.
