Title: Wrong consumption of materials in concrete factory
Post by: Václav on August 11, 2011, 12:44:41 PM
If I looked on concrete factory better, I saw that produced concrete would be very fragile - because there is too much of stone - and lack of cement.

Current consumption is
44 % of stone
44 % of sand
22 % of cement

but it should be
22 % of stone
44 % of sand
44 % of cement

Please, change it.

Depends on the resistance you want to accomplish.

In my country we usually used the following mix of concrete for construction of houses:

100kg/cm2
1 cement
3 sand
5 stone

150kg/cm2
1 cement
2 1/4 sand
4 stone

175kg/cm2
1 cement
2 1/4 sand
3 1/4 stone

I always use the following for my work at home:
1 cement
2 sand
3 stone

The concrete you propose is really tough, I imagine that the retaining wall of a dam.

Thanks for this info.

My idea (and it is real) is that basic materials in concrete are only sand and cement - and stone is only for lesser consumption of other both materials (main matter of concrete).
