Old Member - Wanna get into Simutrans again

Hey guys,

I used to be active on this forum years ago. Lately, I found Simutrans on my PC again and I wanna get into playing again.
However, its been a few years so I've lost the feel for the game. Any tactics/techniques to make a profitable company (and reduce costs etc) for pak 128 would be very appreciated :)

My usual strategy for pak128 is starting a passenger network in 1930.
1. Set a bus (or tram, if you like) network in the largest city of your map.
2. Start intercity buses (the 58 kmph white old bus is good for that) between the city and surrounding towns
3. Add as many towns as you can to your network before it gets overcrowded
4. If you have seas nicely placed in your map, you can also easily and cheaply start ferry lines all around your map

Such a network should give you a fair amount of money so you can easily start trains lines on saturated bus lines, etc ... keep in mind that in the current balancing of pak128, buses are more profitable than trains in the 30s, start a train only if you cannot do another way.
