Title: road vehicle pullover at stops
Post by: ӔO on August 24, 2011, 01:45:34 AM
This is similar to the overtaking feature, but I am talking about vehicles pulling over at a stop and letting vehicles behind it pass.

For instance, I've never been stuck behind a delivery truck because it was unloading in the middle of the road. They always pull over as much as possible. Commuter buses, I do get stuck behind, but on 4 lane roads, you would simply overtake it in the center lane. However, in simutrans, even if a road has been made into one way, if a vehicle stops and waits, all vehicles behind it will get stuck and never overtake.

AEO,
if I am not wrong, you think that if any station (or loading bay) has been two or more tiles long .. and ones bus or truck will stay on the first tile of such station, other vehicles would overtake that vehicle to achieve any one of free tiles. Is it what you think?

And of course, it is what would be good - if I am not wrong.

@VaclavMacurek
like this, when there's a vehicle waiting in the street, but other routes get stuck behind and they are not stopping there at all. The street is clear, since it is one way, but they won't overtake.

... oops ... now I get it. Overtaking through stations - when there is any vehicle standing.
