Title: Landscape of EDO in 19th century
Post by: JHSDF on March 21, 2017, 09:53:31 AM
This is landscape of EDO, Tokyo, Japan in the 19th century.

Large wooden buildings on road are shops called  "OMOTE NAGAYA" operated by rich merchant, because of its high tax.
There are Rice Shop, Brewery, Farmhouse, etc.
Other people lives small house behind of shops, called "URA NAGAYA".
Some of people did small work in URA NAGAYA, repairing umbrella, peeling shell, teaching writing, assembling toys, etc.

It is still incomplete, so I'll study histry of Japan and modeling many buildings, people, horses and ships more and more.
Merchants who has no Shops hang products on long bars and sell towns. they are called "BOUTEFURI".
Postman called "Hikyaku" runs road to deliver letter.

The ship was a monocoque structure with a wooden board, and it didn't have a deck unlike a western ship.
And white building in right side are castle of Edo. white wall is made of plaster.

It is still incomplete, I'll study history of Japan more and model more buildings, ships, people, horses, and castles.
Thank you.

I'm going to introduce cultures of EDO in my map, but it need long time to build all of EDO.

It is EDO castle. in histry, it is palace of general and center of politics. but in Simutrans, it is accessory of city.
First, I made them in 2016 winter.
It took half a year to search real EDO castle, called imperial palace now, to make it.
But I was not satisfied with that. So I visited 6 museums to search architecture of EDO and model it.

I want to release these paks in this spring as addons for pak128.japan. Some of them are already released as test.

Now, I can introduce how to make rice only. but someday I'll introduce travels, festival, jobs, and more.

Few days later, I'm not satisfied with EDO.

So I decided to make much older Japan.

This is landscape of Japan between B.C.300 to A.D.300. it called "YAYOI era".

Before YAYOI, human caught and ate animals, fish and tree nuts.

In B.C.300, People raising rice came to Japan from Asia like China and Korea.
Japanese learn how to raise rice and make field, so they can get foods by themselves, and foods are their property of them, not bounty of nature.
They have to protect these foods from strangers, so they surrounded the village with moats and fences.

BTW, I couldn,t start Simutrans before AD1601.
I think we can play "Simutrans pak128.YAYOI" in April 1st only.

Pak128.yayoi description(Japanese, you should use google translation)

I released pak128.yayoi ver.2 as addon of pak128.japan, not new pakset.
There ware something wrong yesterday, but I fixed it. so you can start simutrans pak128.japan from A.D.1!

but, you have nothing to do between A.D.300 and A.D.1600 so it is tiring and boring to continue to play game from YAYOI era. It will be decoration of ruin park in modern times.

Don't worry, it is already April 3 in Japan.

I don't know about that service but I tried changing uploader.
Can you download files from this?

https://cloudup.com/c6n1YslftH0

And it is necessary to install pak128.Japan, and drop "pak128.yayoi" paks into "pak128.japan" folder.
Because Pak128.yayoi doesn't have some paks to run alone.

Actually, I have some exams next Sunday so there's little time to read how to use in English slowly.
So, if you can get it from clowdup I know, it's resolved. But if you can't, you have to wait until the end of my exams.
Next week I try it, sorry.

Put "Yayoi" on Google and translate it to Japanese from English and click sound.

BTW, I released "Pak128.EDO ver,1" and Promotion Video.
These' no English text because I have no idea to translate nouns that even Japanese never use in modern times.
But I thought you might understand atmosphere of EDO a little.
