I tried to put www.simutrans.com's grass background image to forum. What do you think?  :D

EDIT: Oh, this is my 100th post. :D

Looks nice. But at the corners is a dark green!?

Dark blue. It is forum's default theme image. It can be fixed tough.

Look at the last border image below:

I think the ground texture webpage background makes the page look dated and old.
I can't really recall the last time I've seen background images used on a webpage.

but I do like the how the green background matches the banner.

I saw few not so long, but they had a very light texture, that almost look plain.
Simtropolis is the only one I can remember now. It looks modern and cool.

We should add some nice textured images in those headers that splits the forum areas.

Truth to be said: The Simutrans.com portal needs a revamp. I mean, we need something completely new: new template, fresh visual, up-to-date style, friendly download center, forum and blog integrated, and functional (because editing the links and the pages manually is painful).

TL;DR: We need a new portal, badly.

I think blog.simutrans.com can be used as www.simutrans.com.

About the forum, This forum needs some customization, at least the background. I almost post something to wrong forum. :P

I like the grass;

the blog has indeed a more modern design; but I do not see a very easy way to convert this to a portal. It is a blog software.
