does anyone know if the save game part of the simutrans subdomain is still existing, or did that go with the forum

Only the archive exists at the moment. MAybe posting you savegames in OpenTTD.net would help that, they allow 2MBs ...
im just wondring is it possible to use an unofficial "free" site like mine for example to host such files for download?
You can host for download any file on your own website that you wish... By all means provide a place to post savegames, this would be a valuable resource!
i will try have a site set up by the end of the weekend :)
