Title: SMSC September 2013: Infinite Freeway
Post by: An_dz on September 12, 2013, 05:58:18 PM
Al right, I was almost forgetting to create a new SMSC, but thankfully I remembered and got here to create one. This month topic is going to be Infinite Freeway. As always use your imagination and bring us the best images.

Shouldn't it be horizontal ( ∞ ) instead of vertical ( 8 ) to be infinite?  ;)

yes, you are right, the problem will be the maximum image size of 800x800, the horizontel version is about 1250x800 a little bit to big

Highway to Infinity... And Beyond

A highway leading to the infinite gateway of the future. Buzz Lightyear would be proud.

It was all I could think of...  ;D

Infinite curves

When the country decided to build the Keihin expressway, they found themselves with a lot of rail tracks, blocking the path.

One of the major challenges they found is the presence of the dual level viaduct of the grade separated Keihin Railway, and the eight tracks of the National railway at Higashi-Kanagawa (near Yokohama), with a small gap between these. So in order to pass these obstacles, they decided to build a series of two spirals, to elevate the highway from level 1 to level 3 and viceversa.

The local people call the Higashi-Kanagawa intersection of the Keihin expressway "The Infinite Curves"

It's like R. Penrose! ;)

Whoever inspired it, it's rather brilliant. Simutrans optical illusions? Love it!
