Having just played on the server today, one thing stood out from a pak-point of view.
In the 1830s, it's dirt cheap to build a very extensive railway, but the locomotives cost a small fortune. Is this deliberate, based on reality, or is it just not yet balanced? There's just a need to be extremely careful not to build more track, as I discovered, than you can afford locomotives to operate, which would be less likely to occur if track were more expensive.
Thank you for the report - the answer is, I think, just not yet balanced. There is a lot of work to go into balancing, but that can only be done once all of the balance related issues are implemented in the code, and that will take a long time, I'm afraid.
