Dr. Memory causing crashes?

I wonder whether any more experienced coder can help with this odd phenomenon: whenever I use Dr. Memory on Simutrans-Experimental now, it causes a crash in Simutrans-Experimental that I cannot reproduce when Dr. Memory is not running. It is the sort of crash that is very hard to track down (an access violation when reading a non-NULL address, suggesting that the object has been deleted without, of course, giving any clue of how it came to be deleted). It occurs whether or not multi-threading is enabled.

Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? I must say, I am very confused. I was running Dr. Memory to test for errors of the sort that might cause the Windows/Linux desyncs described in another thread.
