I always feel a bit puzzled if people very clearly try things that are beyond the ways that have been meant to be.

Briefly said, it's begging for troubles, if you try big vehicles.

So my advice:

Ships: 1 square or less.
Planes: 1 square or less.

These sizes have enough graphics troubles already.

I thought, sojo asked for ships being built of several pieces, each 1 tile in size. Do big ships (on one tile) really make big graphic troubles? At least not in the open sea.
Parsley, sage, rosemary, and maggikraut.

I have never seen any problems with the big ships at the sea.

But the trend goes to 1 tile for the vehicles.

Open sea won't show problems. Near coasts, harbors, under bridges, in canals and rivers, there you'll see more problems.

Ok I have it tested. There are some problems. Thats true.

VS

Use small ships for canals and big ships for sea ;)

My projects... Tools for messing with Simutrans graphics. Graphic archive - templates and some other stuff for painters. Development logs for most recent information on what is going on. And of course pak128!
