Nice-looking building. I like the colors.  :D
The floors are a little bit to flat, though. The default high is 13 px.

Carry on, man.  8)

So, what are the color of the windows if I want my building to lit up at night? :P

Yep, I'm gonna change the floor through.

You'll find all special colors here (http://en.wiki.simutrans.com/index.php/Special_Colors).
But don't overdo it. Not all windows shines at night.  ;)

I wonderd if this building is a real one? Did you have a template/master of this bulding? Or is it just created by fantasy?

The colors are nice. But even a little strict.

You can very well the style of pak96.comic painting.  :)

May I have your graphics slightly change? Of course the copyright is yours.
Title: Re: My first building
Post by: Qayyum on August 29, 2008, 11:06:21 PM
Of course you can. ;D Just be sure to retain the base building. ;)

EDIT: Newest addition, skyscraper! But I'm not good at building skyscrapers so I'll stick to the buildings from the 80s (I think) :-\. Anyways, here it is ;).

(http://img37.picoodle.com/data/img37/3/8/29/f_skyscraperpm_74c846b.png) (http://www.picoodle.com/view.php?img=/3/8/29/f_skyscraperpm_74c846b.png&srv=img37)

You can make changes to this skyscraper, as long as it has the same base building ;).

This buildings get a place on cliamte desert! There they adjust very well.

But I will need any time to take them into the pak-set. I have do a lot and time is so short.

Great. But I have one problem. In which building you have a chimney behind a window? Sorry, I am very fussy. I am a pea counter. ;D

Can I use it as an ind building? And what kind of building has you painted? I mean, what is the production from this building? Beer? Chemicals? Medicines?

Depends on how you look at it I guess. It could be that the boiler or what have you, is in the middle of the structure and the chimney is just piped out that way. But it just in how you see it ;)
Title: Re: My first building
Post by: Qayyum on September 08, 2008, 09:56:31 AM
The window is there to cooling up the steaming boiler :P .(2018): Me did not consider what the building is going to be used for.

QuoteCan I use it as an ind building? And what kind of building has you painted? I mean, what is the production from this building? Beer? Chemicals? Medicines?
Yes, you can ;) . I meant the building to be city tile because it doesn't have anything related to the production. It's just an old factory being refurbished into shredder company.
Title: Re: My first building
Post by: sojo on September 08, 2008, 12:33:27 PM
Ok. I need only a describtion for this building. And I thought you have an idea.
Title: Re: My first building
Post by: Qayyum on September 08, 2008, 01:59:46 PM
Allah knows best.

The old factory from 1950s has turned into factory producing shredder for a shredder company. Although the building is small, it can reach production up to 5000 per day as a result of using uber-extreme technology. The chimney behind a window though raises some questions. Who'd ever thought to place the chimney there?
(2018): Ironic because me actually place the boiler there.

First we need in pak96.comic sidewalks even in factories. And second you can areas make transparent when you use the transparent color. ( R231, G255, B255 )

I initially wanted to make an oil refinery but it's not even like oil refinery, so I turned it to chemical factory :). This one consumes refined oil from refinery and produces chemicals and plastic.

I'm going to make pharmacist or plastic factory ;). I will balik kampung (means going to village) soon, so I have some precious time to make pixels and HARI RAYA!!! :P

Nice but one problem : your picture hosting : picoodle loads many advertissments and other things the picture is loaded after. Plus : after a certain time, advertissments totally replace the picture.

Try imagilive

You see the pictures in the first post of the MLM dev.1 's topic (except the SNFOS logo) ? they are entirely showed so you haven't to click on it. Try to copy their link in address of your browser : the picture and only the picture appears, any adds.

how could French be more important than Czech?!? Our future is placed in the east - the west, beginning with Spain, Iceland and USA is bankrupt ...

If I remember correctly, pak96.comic texts are available at Simutranslator so everyone wins.... ::)..well, in fact they're not really available because there're no objects or texts but the section is created.

Now back to the animation, I think would be a good idea to put the static parts, the parts that are not going to be included in the animation, in a single BackImage and the dinamic parts in several separated FrontImages. It improves the performance and make the object pak file lighter.

An example:
Picture (0,0) is the BackImage and the rest are the FrontImages that make up the different frames of the animation

Now I have made my first (and apparently last) object for Simutrans.
If you want to see it, you will have to work out what it is. Lets start with a lot of alone pixels..

If nobody works it out in ca 24 hours, I will add next image more pixels ;)

Seems you just have visited a shopping centre with christmas decoration. In Czech Republic you can find christmas trees and meet Santa Clauses from mid-October ???

Heres my first kitsch-work.

Sorry, it was just too easy ;) Nice idea. Maybe don't put the ground into it, when ground textures are changed, it will look bad...

This is far too much goodness and sweetness to take in one sitting! I've almost developed diabetes! That said, I almost became addicted, I can't help wanting more!

I just have one, tiny teeny gripe. The pharmacy building does not sit well with my perception of pak96comic European small-town feel. The boxy building could perhaps serve as a small hospital/clinic (attraction?), but I would see a pharmacy more like those:

...or perhaps that:

Would you care to take a knack at that?

I don't know, since I made it as a part of the industry. I had to rush to complete the industry chain (Medicine chain).

Alright, this is my last industry. An oil refinery. I struggle to finish this industry because they have many pipes :( . After this, I'll go to do my project at tt-forums (w2w Building Set). When the project is finished, I'll come back here to make graphics again ;D.

hmmm, no, in winter the shadows are longer. The elevation of the sun is at that time not as high as in summer. Anyway great work. Getting me to big trouble to choose for a favorite pak ... *sigh*

Well, reminds me of the pharmacy I just did a few days ago:

But since you asked that nice I'm thinking about making a lattice-version of the building. :D
Im not sure that lattice is the right word, maybe half-timbered ist the better word? Anyway, I'm sure you got it. ; )

Best regards,
Noel

That's indeed the right English word for "Fachwerk"

you could also use "framework" or "skeleton framing" - leo.org lists much more options. "Lattice" is more the open version, like on the lattice booms used with big cranes.

It's never too late to lern some special words you probably never use... : P
Thanks for the lesson. ; ) And as promised before, a half-timbered version of the pharmacy. Specially for DameShirley. Just visit the Bitmapfactory (link in signature).

Should I also do the white modern styled one? Im not sure if we really need another one... : )

Best regards,
Noel

1) Thanks for reminding me of Shirley Horn

2) Why would you assume I am a fan of, and not actually THE Dame Shirley Bassey?
Title: Re: Qayyum's Graphic Library
Post by: VS on November 29, 2008, 07:59:15 PM
Because the odds you are a fan are far better than you being the real person.

Actually as there is on internet almost no way to prove who you are, you probably have to let us individually believe you or not, regardless of the truth... :)

I guess you want to make specific asian buildings :D
If it's that, I support.
Title: Re: Qayyum's Graphic Library
Post by: VS on December 13, 2008, 01:33:34 PM
That is a very good idea! Regardless of climate

As I see it, the essential drawback is: Simutrans has climates, which depict temperature and humidity - but, it completely omits distance/location. "Asian" vs. "European" is clearly independent on "high"/"low". They also manifest differently, the first into architecture, second into flora. Hence the confusion...

Maybe we need another parameter - depending on relative distance from east and west... but who will paint so many houses? ;D

In pak96 I can't but if a such addon is created, I could paint houses for pak128.
