An entry from today's dwarf-fortress change log shows attention to detail:

Stopped cats from dying of alcohol poisoning after walking over damp tavern floors and cleaning themselves (reduced effect)

Minecraft is quite the opposite. Some recently added fixes (with some rephrasing) to show how broken the game has been in past 5 years:

I've found much fun with Minecraft playing Forge / Feed The Beast modsets. Most of those are stuck in 1.7.10, but it's worth it for the amazing new worlds. :)

Also "/weather clear 9999" helps a bit with rain :)
