Title: Inconsistent aspects on choose signals
Post by: Vladki on April 30, 2017, 07:59:26 PM
This affects both track circuit and cab-signalling, 3/4 aspect choose signals.
If the train is routed to stop on the scheduled platform - caution is displayed.
But if it is routed to alternative platform - advanced caution or clear (+ alt route) is displayed.
See this http://server.exp.simutrans.com/debug-saves/cab-signals.sve
And watch the trains arriving from Binovce to Smolenice - there is a 3-aspect choose signal.
1. If the train goes straight - to the scheduled platform - caution (yellow) is displayed - OK
2. If the train reverses on the scheduled platform - it gets clear, which is not correct, should see caution too.
3. If it is routed to alt. platform - the aspect is clear + alt. route (green + yellow) - it should be 2x yellow.
4. Only if the alt. platform is a dead end, then the correct aspect of caution + yellow is displayed.
edit: this is probably not due to dead end but due to the lack of signal at the end of platform. It happens also when the next signal is a few tiles ahead of the chosen platform. I.e number 3 happens only if the alt. platform has a signal at the end.

Similar thing can be seen on approach to trnava station, but with 4-aspect choose signal - then preliminary caution is displayed instead of clear in cases 2 and 3.
I think caution should be displayed in all 4 cases (with alt. route for 3 and 4).

I'm not sure, but it may be the same bug as:

or
http://forum.simutrans.com/index.php?topic=17057.0 (case 3)

May I ask whether you can confirm that this is the same as case 3 in the second link to which you refer here, which I note that you have marked as being fixed?

This bug is not fixed. The difference between this and #17057 is that here the trains are scheduled to stop on the station ahead of the choose signal, while in 17057, the were not (it was a pass through station).
