is it a known issue that ships have difficulties finding path over a long way? especially when part of the way used to be land (i.e. canals of reduced land)

for example, in the online game, ships can go from Aylham Rickman Dock to Yenddon Vestige, and from Yenddon Vestige to Colport Junction Dock, but not from Aylham to Colport (sometimes, they can go in one direction but not the other, I think)

Ships will fail to find a route somewhere around 1400 to 1500 steps it seems.

47,43 to 1498,8 does not work
47,42 to 1480,13 does work.

Thank you to both of you for this. Looking into it, fixing this needed a code change (now on 11.x). The problem was that the minimum routing depth was set too conservatively, and could not be overriden in simuconf.tab. Until 11.4 is released, you can work around the problem by using waypoints.
