There are no road vehicles for sugar cane before 1965. Before then there are trains that can be used.
Historically, in Australia at least, moveable narrow gauge lines were the predominate form of transport for cane up till the 1990's (and later in some areas). This mode is more efficient when the cane was cut manually as empty waggons were left at the next area to be cut and loaded, then the loco would pick up a set and haul them to the mill.

Pak192.Comic / No trucks to transport sugar c...

I am beginning a new map with a start date of 1950. One of the interesting industries is a rum distillery. Of course I would like to supply sugar cane for rum production!  :)  But the sugar cane plantation says sugar cane is transported by a wood carrier. But there is no wood carrier available, not even among the "obsolete" vehicles in my depot.

When I use the filter and sort by freight, it shows that horses are the vehicle to transport sugar cane, but when I try to create a convoi with horses it does not work.

Sorry, but I don't know how to attach a screen shot.

I always lose interest once we have reached the future. If you are kind enough to restart on a new map then I will join eventually, though there is no hurry on my part. I am happily playing Imperator:Rome and watching Iron Age documentaries for the time being.

I'm testing what I downloaded from here, as well as the self-build version of extended and the GDI version of git actions.

Quote from: TransshipmentEnvoy on April 15, 2024, 03:11:27 PMDoes the game end? The server seems to be offline for a while.

We seem to be getting outages quite soon after restarting. There has been a bug for a while where an occasional thread deadlock will stop the game from working until it is restarted. This seems to have become very frequent with this game to the point where we are not getting through the month. On the one hand, being so frequent may make it easier to find and eventually fix - but on the other hand, I have not time to deal with that at present because I am still having a lot of my time taken away by house refurbishments.

Also, we have now reached the future (October 2026). I wonder whether people might like a fresh start on a new map?

SS 6.4 1.27 bugfix = Stainless Steel 6.4 with Bugfix compilation 1.27 Crash ?

I'm not sure if you're in the right forum. This is Simutrans and not Stainless Steel.

As prissi has mentioned it really depends on the version of the pakset, assuming you have put the old savegames in the correct place. Mind you sometimes saves are really sensitive to what version of a pakset you are using because it is dependent on specific (and versions of) pakfiles that are present in the pakset. This also is the case with any addons you might have added, if they are used in the save, they are expected in the pakset when you are trying to open it.

It could also be game version related tho, but usually that isn't an issue.

Attaching large files is not working but usually old games should be loadable. Depends on the version and the pak, but if the files are not older than 16 years, it should work.

Hello.

I was encountering problems with CTD, so i reinstalled the game(SS 6.4 1.27 bugfix) with disabling the UAC and running as an administrator on windows 10.

Since i did this i can start new games and load new files, but the game will not load my old files. I attached them. Maybe someone can tell me if they are corrupted and if there is a way to recover them.

Regards and thanks a lot!
