Title: SMSC March Edition: landscape and player-vehicle
Post by: MoTw on February 28, 2010, 06:20:41 PM
In the German Simutans-Forum, we have launched a competition: Original Post (sojo): see http://www.simutrans-forum.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=5257 (http://www.simutrans-forum.de/forum/thread.php?threadid=5257) and http://www.simutrans-forum.de/forum/thread.php?postid=61306#post61306 (http://www.simutrans-forum.de/forum/thread.php?postid=61306#post61306) (german)

The most beautiful Simutrans-Screenshot (March)

The following text was written by sojo and translated by MoTw ;)
I and me refer to sojo

As mentioned in another topic, I'd like you to send me your screenshots, post them here in the forum or send me a link referring to the picture by March 14th.

Everyone may participate, but only with one screenshot. - If you post a picture but think you found a better one a bit later, just let me know and I'll update it.

The topic: This month's topic is a landscape-scene with player-vehicles. Almost everything is possible, there may be rivers, small train tracks, a little airfield or something else.

Rules:

1. a) The picture may be any size up to 800x600 px. You may zoom out, of course.
1. b) The picture has to be posted as a jpg or png (compressed).
2.     You have to remember the topic: Landscape with player-vehicles.
3.     You may use any pak-set you want to. I'd like to have as much sets used as possible.
4.     Poll is going to start at March 15.
5.     Please include a short description and mention the pak you chose.

Prize:

Mentioning of your Nickname in the public, compliments by the community and one post including your picture in the blog and, can you believe it, in the simutrans.com  :o

Have fun!
I'd like everyone to join!
You may post pictures by now.

mod note: I've changed the title to explain better the content of the topic

Simutrans 102.1, pak128 + MLM dev. (for the stations) + TER 2n NG + z22500 (find here => http://www.simutrans-france.fr.nf/doku.php?id=en:fefe ).

Two suburb train lines running under/over the other. The downer one isn't very used so only TER 2n NG (or z26500) are used whereas the upper one uses z22500 since it's overcrowded.
This line cross the main city of the map which is entirely fictional with fictional names ...
The other line will go back in a tunnel because the city doesn't let any place for it  :-[

Sorry gauthier and ger, the Theme is Landscape and player-vehilce. I think the images can not win. There are towns and no landscape or not much.

Will you send new pictures?

Well, here's my first try:
[right click and show image for better quality & size]
p96c (test version). The coaches are self-painted.

The last train of the night is heading for Lünen Bf. The surrounding landscape is very rural and quiet, only disturbed by the train track and the road connecting Lünen and Helsinki. The train is overtaking the taxi and accelerating up to 100 km/h. Soon, the driver will stop the engines and go to bed :)

A second one:

It's early sunday morning and the train driver is slowly accelerating his regio-shuttle. He's just entered the little forest over which one little balloon is flying  :D Because of the time, there is no traffic on the street next to the track.

You're probably right. I've played with grid on so much I don't notice it any more! Disregard earlier entry! I thought of a better title too:

"What do you mean, the brakes don't work?"

You can see, some rice fields, forest trees, the elevated section of the shinkansen tracks, and the most important Tourist Attraction in the region, The Hydragea and Zen Temple, surrounded by a couple of pagodas.

The temples are conected to the Nishitetsu Futsukaichi Train Station by a Bus Line.

That's because Devotees can add polls only to their own topics.

I changed the settings for a while, so you're able to add a poll here.

For unknown reason, I've not been able to access simutrans-forum.de sites for 10 or 12 months (already reported long time ago too). I suspect my IP falls in a blocked IP range.
