Hi All

This evening, I found myself pondering a design of station I've not used before. See photo below:

My question is, does it work as intended? That is, when a train stops at a platform on one side of the bend, does it use all of the platform tiles, or just the first ones? Obviously we don't have diagonal platforms, but it's quite common (in the games I play at least) to have triangular-junction stations.

I am assuming the coaches on the diagonal do not load/unload. In this case, the branch to the south-east already uses shorter trains than the mainline.

Only the first platforms are used. First being those at the front of the train.

Well ****! I thought I'd been ingenious for a moment...  :o

as an aside, it might be interesting to see what layout solutions people can come up with for a Y-junction. Especially if only one level is allowed.
